Ingredients
- 8 oz.
cream cheese, at room temperature
- 8 oz.
goat cheese
- 1 tbsp.
onion powder
- 1/4 c.
plus 3 tbsp.finely chopped chives, separated
- 1/8 c.
finely chopped scallion
- 1/4 c.
finely chopped fresh dill
- 5
dates, each pitted and chopped into 8 pieces
- 1 c.
Directions
1. Place cream cheese in a large bowl and soften with a spatula. Add goat cheese and onion powder and mix well. Mix in 1/4 c. chives, the scallion, and the dill. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for a half hour, or until firm.
2. One at a time, scoop 1 tbsp. of the firm cheese mixture and roll into balls. Push a piece of date into each and enclose. Combine the reserved 3 tbsp. chives with the chopped pecans on a shallow plate. Roll the cheese balls to coat generously with pecan mixture. Chill until ready to use.
3. Serve on toothpicks or with crackers.
