Lady Gaga David Bowie Tribute Performance Grammys 2016

Lady Gaga started her tribute to the late David Bowie the moment she arrived at tonight's Grammys. As a prelude to her special performance, the singer walked the red carpet in a custom Marc Jacobs Ziggy Stardust-inspired look with bright orange hair and glittery blue eye makeup to pay homage to the late icon. But that was just the beginning.

For the special tribute performance, Gaga performed a medley of Bowie's greatest hits including "Space Oddity," "Changes," "Fashion," "Heroes" and more. Unsurprisingly, Gaga didn't disappoint, from the visual effects depicting the transformation of Bowie on her face to the Ziggy Stardust-inspired costume changes on-stage (which were executed flawlessly, I might add). The old Gaga (think "Poker Face" era) was back, celebrating her own personal music icon with a performance full of wild costumes and theatrics. And it was fitting that an icon like Bowie, who paved the way for musicians to embrace their eccentricities, be celebrated with a colorful tribute by one of the performers he's inspired most, Lady Gaga.
