Donald Trump threatening to deport Prince Harry shows his true feelings

Donald Trump has threatened he would deport Prince Harry over the weekend, claiming he wouldn’t ‘protect’ the royal if he was President of the United States.

The former POTUS seems to be upset over the royal‘s immigration status, which is all up to code. Donald Trump spoke out and claimed the Duke of Sussex ‘betrayed the Queen’. It’s not the first time Trump has expressed his feelings over Prince Harry and the royal family, having always spoken in their favor. Although The Apprentice star didn’t elaborate on how the 39-year-old ‘betrayed’ the late monarch, other than moving across to the States and leave behind The Firm. But the politician has been a big fan of the royals, so it’s in line with what he’s said before.

Donald Trump told the Daily Express US if he wins the election, he’d deport Prince Harry.

Speaking at the right-wing Conservative Political Action Conference, he said: “I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the queen. That’s unforgivable. He would be on his own if it was down to me.”

It comes after the dad-of-two appeared in court on Friday as part a lawsuit brought against the Department of Homeland Security by conservative think thank Heritage Foundation. They were suing the DHS in a row over his visa. They attempted to seize the Duke’s immigration records to determine if he lied over past drug use when he applied for a US visa.

Harry moved over to the US with wife Meghan Markle back in 2020. They had stepped down as senior working royals of Buckingham Palace and chose to settle down in their Montecito mansion after a spell in Canada. They brought little Archie over with them, who was a baby, before welcoming Lilibet, their daughter, in the USA later.

The Duke has been open about using drugs in the past, in his own memoir Spare, which released in January 2023. He admitted to using cocaine, marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms.

But it’s not the first time he’s set sights on the Sussexes.

In September, Donald Trump described the celebrity actress as “disrespectful”, singing a similar tune over Prince Harry when saying he wanted to deport the royal.

He said: “I didn’t like the way she dealt with the queen. They treated her with great disrespect and I didn’t like it.”

At the same time, he continued he’d “love” to debate the former Suits star: “I didn’t like the idea that they were getting U.S. security when they came over here.”

But it seems the TV actress didn’t take him up on the offer. No debate has happened in the past six months.

When Trump was campaigning for his Presidential seat in 2016, Meghan called him “divisive” and “misogynstic”, which rubbed him up the wrong way.

Trump, married to Melania, said her comments were “nasty”.

He clarified: “I wasn’t referring to, she’s nasty. I said she was nasty about me. And essentially I didn’t know she was nasty about me. She was nasty to me. And that’s OK for her to be nasty, it’s not good for me to be nasty to her and I wasn’t.”

Trump has been an advocate for the British family, often speaking fondly of them, including Queen Elizabeth II. This may be while Donald Trump is quite upset over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

He visited Britain on state business in 2018 and met the former monarch as well as her husband Prince Philip.

Trump raved about his visit, saying he developed a deep bond and she had been taken with him.

He told Fox News: “There are those that say they have never seen the queen have a better time, a more animated time.

“We had a period where we were talking solid straight. I didn’t even know who the other people at the table were. I never spoke to them; we just had a great time.”

He also called her “an incredible lady”.

When she passed away in September 2022, he paid tribute to her.

“Together with our family and fellow Americans, we send our sincere condolences to the Royal Family and the people of the United Kingdom during this time of great sorrow and grief.” Trump wrote at the time.

“Queen Elizabeth’s historic and remarkable reign left a tremendous legacy of peace and prosperity for Great Britain.

Then earlier this month, when King Charles’ cancer news was released, he also sent over his well-wishes.

Trump said: “King Charles has cancer. He is a wonderful man, who I got to know well during my presidency, and we all pray that he has a fast and full recovery.”

Harry’s book ‘isn’t proof he took drugs’, US court case told

But federal lawyers have now stepped in to defend the decision to grant Harry’s visa and not deport the prince – as much as it upsets Donald Trump.

In the case heard before a Washington DC court, The Heritage Foundation accused Harry of “bragging” about using drugs in his memoir. When they called for his immigration records to be shared, they claimed it was for “immense public interest”.

However, John Bardo, lawyer for Biden administration, said the “book isn’t sworn testimony or proof”.

“Saying something in a book doesn’t necessarily make it true,” Mr Bardo said.

“Prince Harry is one foreign national out of many who enter the US legally.”

But the comments have sparked further debate on the other things Harry spoke about in his memoir. From supposed conversations with other royals, arguments with Prince William, as well as the infamous texts between Meghan and Kate Middleton which made them cry.

The DHS said it would not confirm if Harry made an application alongside his visa relating to exemptions of drug use.

“The mere acknowledgment of these records would constitute an unwarranted invasion of Prince Harry’s privacy,” it said.

“The records are particularly sensitive because releasing them, even in part, would reveal Prince Harry’s status in the United States, which Prince Harry has not disclosed.”
