Demi Lovato thinks it's 'gross' she dated older men because of her 'daddy issues'

Singer Demi Lovato is finally in a flourishing relationship with her beau Jordan Lutes. The Heart Attack crooner has been candid about her struggles in relationships in a new interview. Demi Lovato also opened up about her ‘daddy issues.’

Demi Lovato claims it’s ‘gross’ she dated older men in the past

She has recently been honest and open in her latest interview speaking about her views on relationships. Demi Lovato admitted how her ‘daddy issues’ shaped her early relationships.

The former Disney celebrity revealed: “I can say with confidence that my daddy issues aren’t anything that are inside of me anymore.”

Speaking about her past relationships, Demi shared: “I think there’s a few signs to that. I’m with a partner that is my age, essentially. I look back on the past [of dating older men] and think ‘that’s gross.’”

Demi’s current relationship has helped her thrive in life. She adds: “There’s this partnership there that is just so magnetic, and the way that we laugh together. It’s just nonstop!”

This isn’t the first time Demi opened up about her feelings about dating older men. Earlier on a podcast, Demi told her young fans: “If you’re a young girl and you think that it’s sexy or fun to date older men, it’s not OK unless you’re of age.”

Demi’s single 29 in 2022 talks about the dynamics of a relationship where a considerable age gap is involved. The singer believes that the message of the song is important.

Demi Lovato reveals the beginning of her current relationship

Demi once dated Wilmer Valderrama who is 13 years older than her. But since then, the Sorry Not Sorry singer has moved on. She now gives a glimpse of her current relationship where she feels ‘safe.’

Gushing over the pillars of a happy relationship, she said: “I think if you can find someone that makes you feel safe, that you’re so attracted to, that you laugh with constantly, that’s the formula of a really great relationship.”

Demi met her current partner Jordan Lutes while working on new music. She confessed finding him attractive right at the beginning.

“He came in to write on one of my sessions and I was in the studio and was immediately attracted to him. I like texted my friends on the side and was like, ‘He’s so hot!'” the singer shared on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show.
