Cross-country memorial ride concluding with services here | Free News

A cross-country memorial ride in honor of the Hellfighters national president will conclude with special services in Laurel on Saturday.

The ashes of “California Mike” Grubb departed San Bernardino, Calif., on Sunday and escort riders were scheduled to make stops in Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Louisiana. They were set to leave West Monroe this morning (Thursday) en route to Laurel.

Visitation is set for 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at Highland Baptist Church with lunch at the gym at noon followed by a celebration-of-life service at 1 p.m.

At 3 p.m., there will be a ride to Angel Lake — formerly Masonite Lake — at 112 Pavilion Road off Masonite Lake Road. That’s where the faith-based motorcycle ministry celebrated the life of longtime general manager Eddie Parker after a memorial ride on Saturday, March 2.

Both Hellfighters leaders died of natural causes on Feb. 12.
